Frequently Asked Questions
Do you have this dress in another size or color?
All of our items are authentic vintage and one of a kind. Each garment was manufactured during the era indicated and is not a modern reproduction. Once an item is gone, it is gone for good.
How often do you add new items?
This is a full time job for us and, unless we’re on vacation, we add new items 2-3 times a week. Check back often! New items will always go on the What’s New page, as well as under their respective categories.
Will you put an item on hold for me?
Sorry, we no longer place items on hold. No exceptions! If you are sure you want an item, please go through the check-out process.
Do you accept returns?
Yes we do. Please see our complete Return Policy.
Do you ship worldwide?
Yes we do! All of our international shipments are insured through our shipping service. The buyer is responsible for all customs duties and taxes. We declare every item as Merchandise with the full amount you paid for the item (less shipping) on the customs declaration.
How quickly do you ship?
We ship all item within 48 hours of completed payment Monday – Friday. If there will be a delay in shipping due to weather or vacation, we will let you know via email.
I am traveling to Boston. Can I visit your store?
Couture Allure is an online business only. We do not have a storefront and are unable to accommodate visitors to our warehouse.
Do you clean every item before it is offered for sale?
We have almost all of our items dry cleaned before offering them for sale so that your purchase is ready-to-wear when you receive it. Washable items will come to you freshly laundered and ready to wear. Even though cottons are washable, we often have these items dry cleaned to avoid shrinkage and fading, and to maintain a crisp finish to the garment. Exceptions to our dry cleaning policy include items with fur trim, fur coats, leather garments, items with non-permanent accordion pleats, items older than the 1940s, accessories, and items with elaborate trims that our dry cleaner refuses. If a listing does not state that the item has been dry cleaned, you may choose to do so with your own trusted professional before wearing.
I have some vintage or designer clothing I would like to sell. Would you be interested in buying it?
Yes, we do buy vintage clothing. Please follow these simple guidelines for sending us information about the clothing you have for sale.
Can you tell me how much my vintage item is worth?
No, sorry. I am not a professional appraiser and, as a seller of vintage clothing, am not ethically able to provide a valuation for your vintage clothing. We recommend that you contact a professional appraiser of antiques in your area.
Can you give me more information about my vintage item or a specific designer?
No, sorry. Due to the overwhelming amount of requests, we are unable to offer help with researching your vintage items. We recommend doing a web search or checking with your local library for additional help.
