Silk velvet….there’s nothing quite like it, especially when it dates to the 1930s. This vintage 30s black silk velvet dress is perfect to wear for day or night. It is accented with a hand-made Irish crochet collar that has aged to a tea dyed ecru color. The center front bodice and sleeves have lines of smocking stitches that make ruched gathers. The front neckline is slit to the bust and closes with hidden hooks and eyes, but you can leave it open if you prefer. The skirt flares out nicely from the hips. The dress closes with snaps and hooks at the side and is unlined.
