Sue Wong was the designer at Arpega and Young Edwardian in the 1970s. She left to form her own very successful line in 1979. In 1999, she created her eveningwear division called Sue Wong Nocturne. Wong gets her inspiration from designs of the past, and this gorgeous evening gown is inspired by the 1930s. Fashioned of muted purple silk chiffon, the fabric is cut on the bias to hug your curves. The chiffon is elaborately beaded with dark purple beads and lilac sequins in a floral pattern. The neckline scoops quite low in back and has a cowl drape that is also beaded. The dress closes with a side invisible zipper and is completely lined in matching muted purple silk jersey.
