These fit-and-flare coats are becoming so hard to find. This one was made in London by Modele Lorian and dates to the late 40s. Modele Lorian was located on chi-chi Grosvenor Street, right off Grosvenor Square in the Mayfair district of London. This coat is fashioned of black wool. The wide shawl collar and pockets are accented with a band of black velvet and black braid. The adornments on the pocket edges then extend all the way to the hem. The coat closes with hidden hooks from collar to waist, and black braid buttons with hand-worked buttonholes below the waist. The skirt flares out and has a deep inverted pleat at the center back. The coat is lined in black rayon crepe and the lining has been sewn in completely by hand.
