Vintage 40s FRANK STARR Strapless Evening Gown Dress Small bust 34

The Frank Starr company was an American dress manufacturer specializing in cocktail and evening dresses. This 1940s evening gown was designed by Ted Shore for Frank Starr. The strapless bodice is fashioned of taffeta in a floral print in red, peach, beige, and cream. Large triangular points fold down over the bust. The full, full skirt is fashioned of black chiffon layered over black taffeta lining. Attached at the back waist is a chiffon drape that is edged in appliques of the floral fabric. This drape can be worn hanging down, or can be worn as a shawl-like wrap at the shoulders, or even as a hood. The dress closes with a side metal zipper and the bodice is boned for support.
