Vintage 40s Tall Black Feather Hat

In the early 1940s, tall hats became very popular. This one is fashioned of a stiff black fabric base that is covered with black flat feathers. A flurry of black coque feathers curves over the top of the hat. This hat was fashioned to fit over a 1940s rolled hairstyle and is quite wide from side to side. It is meant to be pinned to the hair. Measures 22 1/2" around the inside of the brim and 7" tall in the back. Very good condition with a couple of feathers missing at the left front. Some small spots of the old glue are showing through in a couple of spots, but this does not detract.
