SOLD Vintage 50s CLAIRE McCARDELL Cotton Stripe Full Skirt Dress Small bust 37"
Here you have an outstanding example from one of America’s best known sportswear designers, Claire McCardell. This late 1940’s or early 50’s dress is fashioned of cotton pique in apricot, pale grey, and white stripes. McCardell has cut the fabric on the bias so the stripes make a chevron patterns. The dress closes at the front with McCardell’s iconic brass hooks and eyes. The full skirt is softly pleated onto the dropped waist. Unlined. Note: We’ve shown this dress over a full crinoline that is not included. Can also be worn without a crinoline for a more casual look.
