These vintage sarong dresses from the 1940s and 50s are so sexy. Based on the original that was designed for Dorothy Lamour by Edith Head in 1936 for the film “Jungle Princess”, the sarong style remained popular through the 1950s. This one is fashioned of cotton broadcloth in a blue tropical batik print. The bodice has a surplice wrap neckline and tiny spaghetti straps. The skirt is a wrap that drapes to the left side. The dress closes with a center back metal zipper and is unlined.
