Dorothy Lamour made a splash with her sarong dresses in the “Road” movies during the late 40s and sparked a fashion trend that lasted into the 1950s. This vintage sarong dress and jacket by Ah Lee date to that time. Fashioned of emerald green cotton voile, both pieces are trimmed with wide green and yellow braid. The dress is fitted with a separate draped piece at the front skirt. The triple straps are knotted at the top of the shoulder. The dress closes with a side metal zipper and is lined in green taffeta. The little jacket is also trimmed in braid and closes with a snap and hook at the waist. It is also lined in taffeta.
