Designer Luis Estevez found inspiration for his feminine designs from his wife. "She likes her clothes to have sharp lines and be as sexy as possible within the boundaries of good taste." Also known as the "Neckline King" in the industry, this vintage 1950s Grenelle Estevez dress exemplifies both points of view. The dress is fashioned of black wool jersey knit and has a wide waistband of black satin. The bateau neckline is as high as possible in the front and plunges to a V at the top of the waistband in the back. The 3/4 sleeves are cut-in-one with the bodice. There are small tucks above and below the waistband in the front for ease at the bust and hips. The center back hem flares out in a small godet for walking ease. The dress closes with a center back metal zipper and is completely lined in black taffeta.
