This late 1940’s or early 50’s dress is fashioned of scarf-weight silk twill in a pretty red, yellow, and black floral print. It was part of Best’s exclusive Sun Fashions line. Greta Plattry designs are becoming quite rare and are highly sought after. This is a classic shirtwaist style with a twist – it is hooded. The dress closes at the front with mother-of-pearl buttons to the hips and there is a decorative brass hook and eye at the throat that can be worn open or closed. The raglan sleeves are 3/4 in length and have button cuffs. The full skirt is gathered onto the waist. Note: We’ve shown this dress over a crinoline that is not included. The dress was shortened 3 different times over the years and there are 3 faint fold lines in the lower skirt that are not noticeable in the print. In fact, they have almost completely disappeared after that trip to the dry cleaners.</p>
