Vintage 50s JACQUES HEIM Couture Silk Cocoon Coat Large

Incredible, amazing, and oh, so very rare. This Jacques Heim cocoon coat dates to 1958-59. The ad shown is from a 1959 issue of L’Officiel magazine and shows a similar Jacques Heim coat with fur trim. This coat is fashioned of a gorgeous ribbed silk in red with a subtle, blurred-out floral print in darker reds and grey. The coat is padded and lined in red silk taffeta. The cut of this coat is quite ingenious. The little sleeves are cut and sewn so they naturally curve to the front. This is a clutch style with no closures and it is meant to be very oversized. The funnel collar stands away from the neck and the entire coat drapes from the shoulders. No pockets.
