The juxtaposition of deep, dark navy (nearly black) silk taffeta and cream beaded satin in this dress adds a certain sense of class. Dating to the 1950s, this vintage cocktail dress has a Van Gogh label. The cream satin yoke and sleeves are beaded with crystal seed beads, tiny pearls, rhinestones, and sequins. The navy silk taffeta bodice has “crumb catcher” extensions at the front that accent the bustline. The skirt is narrow at the front and flares at the back from a sunburst of darts over the derriere. There is a deep pleat at each side of the skirt back. The dress closes with a side metal zipper and is unlined. Comes with the original skinny belt, not shown.
