Peggy Hunt was a California based designer who specialized in cocktail and evening dresses.  Her dresses were often worn by Hollywood stars such as Anne Miller and Lucille Ball.  Hunt was a wizard with illusion lace and this is one such design.  This dress dates to the 1950s and is fashioned from black rayon crepe.  The bodice has a band of nude color lace at the upper bustier edge.  Nude color chiffon forms a yoke from the top of the black crepe to the shoulders, and the seam is covered by a wide band of black lace.  The black lace gives the illusion that the shoulder straps are sitting at the tops of your arms. Sexy!  The dress closes with a center back metal zipper and the bodice is lined in black rayon.
