This exquisite vintage late 1950s evening gown has a decided Asian influence. Originally sold by the exclusive Gertrude Frank shop in Brookline, MA, this dress is fashioned of luxurious pink Duchesse satin. The fitted bodice is completely beaded in silver-lined bugle beads in a floral pattern that comes to points at the hips. Single beaded flowers adorn the skirt. The stand-up collar, armholes, and hem are covered with solid bands of beads. The hem curves up at the left side into a 14" slit. The dress closes at the back with a hand stitched metal zipper and is completely lined in pink taffeta.

CONDITION: Very Good – Dress is freshly dry cleaned and ready to wear. There is a 1/4" brown spot at the back right waist below the beaded design. There are a few missing beads scattered about, but nothing noticeable save for the single floral patterns at the back hip, where the original woman would have sat down. There are a few missing beads in the band at the hem, most at the left side (shown).
