You know how difficult it is to find great vintage in larger sizes. I think this vintage late 1950s suit by Galene’s Trim Traveler is especially handsome. Fashioned of a French cotton pique with a diagonal weave, the pattern is of white and brown micro dots on a black background. The jacket is fitted with princess seams and closes with three large black plastic buttons at the front. The straight skirt has a set-on waistband and side nylon zipper. Both pieces are unlined. Gaylene’s Trim Traveler suits cost about $24.50 in 1955, which equals about $200 in today’s dollar.
