This is the earliest scarf I've ever had by Vera Neumann.  It's also one of the most unusual. The Vera Company has this identical scarf pictured on their blog and positively identified as being from 1959.  This silk scarf is solid black screenprinted with a metallic gold botanical print around the edges.  Made in Japan with hand rolled edges.  Label states the fabric is been water repellent.  Measures 31" square.  Very good condition.  The original owner must have worn this scarf with a brooch or pin as there are several tiny pinprick holes scattered about.  These are not noticeable.  There is an area of very faint fade to the black at the center of the scarf that is more visible on the wrong side.  This will not be noticeable when worn.
