SOLD Vintage 60s Ballantyne Cashmere Daisy Sweater Medium bust 39
You can't go wrong with sweaters from the 1950s and 60s. Not only were they
made with high quality yarns that resisted pilling, but they are usually
fully fashioned, which means they are knitted into shape, not cut and
sewn from a flat piece of knit fabric. And unlike today's cheap cashmere that pills so
easily, vintage cashmere sweaters are most often made from the long
fibers gathered from the underside of the Kashmir goat. Those long
fibers also make for an incredibly soft hand. This vintage 1960s cashmere pullover sweater was made by premier sweater maker Ballantyne for I. Magnin. The bright turquoise background makes the large creamy white daisy pattern pop. The sweater has a crew neck and 3/4 sleeves.
