This dress manages to be elegant and hip at the same time. Dating to the mid 1960’s, this dress bears the Christian Dior New York label. It is fashioned from two distinct layers that come together at the black silk velveteen yoke. The outer layer is fashioned of a black openwork fabric made of shiny black mylar threads with black sequins. The black openwork fabric is backed with black silk tulle. The underlayer is fashioned of nude color silk organza lined in nude China silk. CONDITION: Excellent – There are three horizontal tears in the silk organza lining layer that have been mended by hand with tiny whip stitches. They are located next to the left side seam from waist to hip. They does not show through to the outside.
