Everything about this 1960s evening gown says timeless elegance. Although Jackie Kennedy didn’t often wear black, I can see her in this vintage early 1960s dress made for the exclusive Charles Sumner store on Newbury Street in Boston. Fashioned of a black silk velvet and faille brocade, this dress features a square neckline that dips lower in the back. The skirt has graceful pleats at the center front and at the back for fullness without bulk. The bodice is lined in black satin and the skirt is lined in a double layer of black organza.
