The Gino Charles company was a joint venture between 1960s designers Teal Traina and Malcolm Starr. They designed and produced gorgeous cocktail dresses in Hong Kong, and many of those dresses were made from wonderful brocades like this one. The colors here are brick red, cream, and grey, mixed with gold metallic threads. The dress features a low scooped neckline and long sleeves that are accented with brass buttons at the cuffs. There are tucks in the skirt front below the high waist and pockets hide in the princess seams. The dress closes with a center back nylon zipper and is completely lined in cream silky rayon.
