This set is so different! Dating to the early 1960s, this vintage evening gown has a matching cutaway coat/train with no front, so as not to hide the exquisite beading. Fashioned of silk shantung in a pale celery green, the bodice and hem of the gown are elaborately beaded with shimmering glass beads and large aurora borealis rhinestones. The dress is very fitted and has a curving seam under the bust. It closes at the back with a metal zipper and is completely lined in silk organza. There are 14" slits at each side seam hem. The coat falls straight from the shoulders down the back and has a stand-away collar and short cap sleeves with no front. Trés unusual – I’ve never seen another like it. CONDITION: Good – The evening gown is nearly perfect with just one 1/4" black spot hidden amongst the beading at the front hem. The side seam on the right side was let out and faint fold lines remain in the silk. The coat is in fair shape with many light brown stains on the lower half of the back. There is also wear to the silk where the coat was folded for storage. Since the coat is lined edge to edge, you could turn it inside out to wear and the issues would be hidden. Price reflects condition. Freshly dry cleaned and ready to wear.
