Jane Derby was an American designer of high end ready-to-wear.  This dress dates to the early 60s before Oscar de la Renta joined the company.  It was originally sold at Saks Fifth Avenue.  This dress is new, old stock and still has the original price tag attached.  The original price of $145.00 is equal to about $1,100.00 in today's dollar.

• Fashioned of fluid silk in black with cream color polka dots.
• Styled like a traditional shirtwaist dress.
• Skirt has unpressed pleats at the front and back.
  
• Closes with two self-fabric buttons and bound buttonholes at the front bodice.
• Hidden snaps close the front waist and allow the continuation of the front opening to be set off to the left side of the skirt front.
• 3/4 sleeves have fold back cuffs.
• Completely lined in black China silk.
