In the early 60s, every woman wanted to have one of these dress and jacket ensembles in her closet.  The style was made popular by Jackie Kennedy and it replaced the more traditional jacket and skirt suits of the 40s and 50s.  This fabulous early 60s dress and jacket ensemble is by Larry Aldrich and would have been very expensive in it's day.  The set is fashioned of a loopy black wool boucle.  The simple dress has an inserted waistband.  The skirt has pretty unpressed pleats in the front.  The dress closes at the back with a nylon zipper.  The matching jacket can be worn with the dress or with other items in your wardrobe.  The bracelet length sleeves are cut-in-one with the body of the jacket and have a seam across the top.  The jacket closes with large plastic buttons and bound buttonholes.  Both pieces are completely lined in black China silk.  Note: Brooch shown not included.  Original price – $185.00.
