Mollie Parnis was best known for dressing America’s First Ladies from Mamie Eisenhauer to Roslyn Carter. This babydoll dress and slip set dates to the late 1960s and was sold by Frederick’s, a high end boutique in New Jersey. The set is extremely well made with the highest of construction standards and hand finished details. The outer dress is fashioned of a sheer white silk chiffon with woven dots that is backed with pale yellow silk organza. Ivory cotton Venice lace decorates the collar, empire waisted bodice, sleeve cuffs and hem. The dress closes with a nylon zipper at the back. The slip is fashioned of the same pale yellow silk organza layered over bright yellow China silk. The bright yellow shows through the 3 layers of sheer fabric that top it as a light yellow lining – a clever effect. The slip has nude color shoulder straps and closes at the back with a nylon zipper.

CONDITION: Good – Freshly dry cleaned and ready to wear. There is a faint 1 1/2″ × 2″ brownish spot on the dress front about 9" up from the hem. This only affects the outer white chiffon layer of the dress, and faded significantly with cleaning. It did not come out all the way however. Price reflects condition, and this dress is being sold “As Is” with no returns accepted.
