Here’s one for the “Ladies Who Lunch” crowd. And this suit can easily go from day to date with a simple change of accessories! Made by Nat Kaplan Couture for Fine’s, Savannah, this dress with matching jacket dates to the late 1960’s or very early 70’s. It is fashioned of black Duchesse satin with a very subtle sheen. The dress has a princess seamed bodice with an insert at the center front. The skirt is ever-so-slightly gathered onto the waist and has a deep inverted pleat at the front. The dress closes with a center back nylon zipper and is lined in black cotton batiste. The original belt does come with it, but the backing is coming off, so I did not show it in the photos. The matching jacket has a tiny stand-up collar and is worn open with no closures. It is lined in black taffeta.
