Nathan-Strong was a manufacturer of high end dresses and suits on par with Ceil Chapman and Lilli Ann. This vintage early 60s cocktail dress with matching jacket was sold by Sabiens in Boston and is constructed from a very unique silk satin type fabric that is woven with subtle metallic gold threads within the watercolor rose print. The dress bodice is fashioned of bright pink silk chiffon that is completely ruched and accented with piping. Double spaghetti straps are found at the shoulders. The dress closes with a center back metal zipper. The bodice is lined in bright pink silk taffeta and the skirt is lined in silk organza. The matching short jacket features a separate swing panel at the back that floats over a fitted panel on the inside. The jacket closes with self-fabric buttons and bound buttonholes and is completely lined in bright pink silk taffeta.
