Norman Norell, who started his own company in 1960, was well known for his waistless chemise style. This vintage late 1960s Norell evening dress, while not without issues, is one of those iconic Norell styles. Fashioned of heavy wool knit jersey in a pale blue color, this dress is beautifully tailored and features the best in American couture construction techniques. Simple in shape, there are large patch pockets at the front hips, dolman sleeves, and a stand up collar. The dress closes at the front with self fabric covered buttons and bound buttonholes from collar to knee. It is completely lined in lightweight silk.

CONDITION: Good – Dress is freshly dry
cleaned and ready to wear. There is one moth hole at the front left shoulder. This could be covered with a scarf or brooch. There are 2 moth nips at the hem, 1 on the front and 1 on the back. There is one final moth nip at the front right near the center opening about 9" up from the hem. There is very faint yellowing at the front right waist area. This is virtually invisible and does not detract. The dress probably originally had a sash or belt, but that is gone. Price reflects condition and is a bargain for this designer.
