SOLD Vintage 60s PAULINE TRIGERE Wool Swing Coat Large bust 46

Default Title
$0.00

Pauline Trigere was one of America’s most famous designers. Her clothing was always elegant and wearable, and she was known for designing with unusual textiles or adding something unexpected to her garments.  Her earlier coats are highly collectible, as they are marvels of design.  This one dates to the early 60s and is fashioned of wool in a warm gold that is the color of natural wicker or straw.  This coat is a very full swing style with elbow length bell shaped sleeves.  The coat closes with a single oval shaped self-fabric button and bound buttonhole at the neckline. The patch pockets are huge and are accented with the same buttons as the closure.  The coat is completely lined in beige silk taffeta.
