We have recently acquired a large collection of fabulous hats from the estate of Mrs. F. E. Plankenhorn of Williamsport, PA.  Mrs. Plankenhorn's husband was the owner of the Penn Garment Co. and Plankenhorn Braid Works.  As the wife of a man in the fashion business, it was Mrs. Plankenhorn's job to look stylish at all times.  Her hat collection reflects this and over the next couple of weeks, we'll be offering her marvelous hats here at Couture Allure.

This stunning hat dates to the early 1960s.  It is fashioned of a stiff green lace pillbox base that is covered in gorgeous pink silk roses.  Green silk and velvet leaves are scattered about and there are even a couple of purple velvet pansies.  A deep magenta velvet bow accents the right front.  Measures 21 1/2" around the inside.  No maker's label.  Excellent condition.
