<p>We feel safe attributing this exquisite vintage 1960s evening gown bearing a Nan Duskin label to Ferdinando Sarmi’s 1965 line based upon the quality of construction and the advertisement shown for Nan Duskin from the September 1, 1965 issue of Vogue magazine.</p>
<p>This dress is fashioned from two layers of silk chiffon in soft white and Tiffany box blue that float over a blue crepe lining. There are yards and yards of silk in this dress. The bodice is cut in a halter style, but a wide soft white silk satin ribbon is then used to form shoulder straps. The same silk satin ribbon forms a waistband and a large bow at the back waist. The dress closes with a hand set nylon zipper at the back. The blue crepe lining is fitted to the body and there is an inner silk netting corselet that gives body and shape to the bodice front. Note: The Nan Duskin label is still found inside this dress. Even though we are sure this dress is by Sarmi, the Sarmi label is gone.</p>

<p><span class="caps">CONDITION</span>: Excellent – Dress is freshly dry cleaned and ready to wear. The silk at the underarms showed small splits after cleaning. Those have been professionally repaired with tiny hand stitches and are not visible or noticeable. There are some yellowed streaks in the outer silk layer at the left side hem, likely from an old spill. This is not noticeable in the folds of the silk.</p>
