The work of Galanos is as close to true haute couture as you can get in a ready-to-wear garment. Each piece is hand finished with the finest of details and intricate construction. This 1970s evening gown is straight out of the Studio 54 disco era. It is fashioned of a fine silk crepe in vibrant orange. The bodice features a hand finished silk ruffle at the neckline. The wide bell sleeves gather into cuffs that close with Chinese knot buttons and hand-stitched buttonholes. The dress is a wrap style that closes with one hook at the inner right shoulder, one hook at the outer left shoulder, and two hooks at the waist. The skirt is completely cut on the bias to hug your curves and is open from waist to hem. There is a nice wide underlap, but when seated, you can expose as much leg as you like. The waist is elasticized and a wide silk chiffon sash is attached with hand stitches at the back. It is long enough to wrap around the waist twice and can be tied in many different ways. The bodice of the dress is lined in the same silk chiffon. The skirt and sleeves are unlined. All seams are finished with silk binding at the edges. Truly a work of art!  Original price – $695.00.
