Acknowledged as a design genius with his first collection in 1986, Carmelo Pomodoro was a rising star in the fashion world before his life was cut tragically short in the fall of 1992. This vintage Pomodoro skirt is new, old stock and still has the original tag attached that is dated 1-7-92. The original retail price on this skirt was $780.00. Fashioned of black wool jersey knit, the entire skirt is covered with oblong shaped silver paillette sequins that are sewn on by hand in horizontal rows. These sequins are very shiny and you are sure to be noticed when you wear this skirt! In fact, that’s my photographer and everything behind her reflected in the picture! It is cut close to the body with the hem narrower than the hips. It closes with a center back invisible zipper and is lined in black nylon tricot.
