Christian LaCroix's patchwork collections are quite inventive and pieces from these collections are highly coveted today.  I've never seen anything quite like the cleverness utilized in this dress that probably dates to the late 1990s.  The dress is knitted of rayon yarns in a mix of black and brown with a hint of hot pink mixed in here and there. The various pieces are knitted in different patterns.  The front is mostly openwork knit, and you will need to wear a slip underneath it.  A strapless mini slip would be perfect!  The best part of this dress is the two silver metal mesh inserts; one at the left hip and the other at the right hem.  That hem is asymmetric, by the way, and hangs lower on the right side.  The dress closes with a single button and loop at the back neck and is unlined.  It has quite a bit of stretch to it, and please remember when looking at the measurements that some of the length will be taken up as the knit stretches.
