The work of Galanos is as close to true haute couture as you can get. Each piece is hand finished with the finest of details. This evening gown by Galanos was sold by Bergdorf Goodman and dates to the early 1990s. It is fashioned of brown silk velvet with a burnout windowpane pattern. The burnout portion is sheer silk chiffon. The dress is ingeniously lined from bust to knee with a lightweight fluid black lame that adds a hint of sparkle behind the sheer squares. The lame is lined in black silk chiffon. The dress closes at the back with brown satin ball buttons and loops from neckline to waist. There are more ball buttons and loops from knee to hem that can be worn open or closed. We’ve shown them open so you can see the sexy slit this makes.
