Louis Féraud is well known for his haute couture and luxury ready-to-wear lines. This jacket is one of his high-end ready to wear items. The label says “Made in W. Germany”, so I am dating this jacket to right about 1989-90, but this jacket is timeless in it’s design. Fashioned of a gorgeous navy blue wool twill, this jacket is the longer length that was just becoming fashionable at that time. It would have been worn with a short skirt or pants, but those are now gone. The jacket is adorned with rows of white soutache braid at the jewel neckline, on the 4 pocket flaps, and at the sleeve cuffs. The soutache extends into an intricate diamond pattern on the back of the sleeves. The jacket closes with navy enamel buttons – all but the top are hidden behind a placket at the center front. It is completely lined in navy silky viscose lining with the feraud logo woven in. There is a gold chain at the back of the neck to hang the jacket, if desired and narrow shoulder pads give just the right shape to the shoulders. Exquisite craftsmanship and materials throughout!
